When the inside of the throat becomes inflamed and swollen as a result of regurgitation of the contents of the stomach, this is called “reflux esophagitis” or “acid reflux.”Almost anyone has experienced something like this at some point – where the contents of the stomach rise up into the throat.But some people experience this more than others, and some experience it severely and frequently.

Food is normally trapped in the stomach by the lower esophageal valve after it has passed through to stop this problem. Though the root causes are often unclear, perhaps the most prevalent acid reflux cause is a poor diet; although overeating may also contribute because when you overeat, the stomach can’t keep up with the demand to process all the acids.

A good acid reflux diet is not just about knowing what food to avoid for acid reflux disease, or the right food to eat for acid reflux, but also how much to eat for every meal. Acid reflux can happen after a heavy meal. Part of an acid reflux diet and healthy lifestyle includes quitting smoking. Quitting smoking definitely helps to reduce symptoms and is key to improving the condition.Have a glass of white instead of red wine with dinner. It’s just a matter of common sense, but these changes are necessary during the acid reflux recovery period.
