Baking Tips
These tips would definitely help in making some perfect cupcakes. Use these cupcake tips to make your best ever cupcakes.
Firstly, one should have enough batter. For instance, to make around sixty mini-cupcakes or twenty-four regular-sized cupcakes, the quantity of dough should be equivalent to the one used for making two-layered cakes. It is advisable to line muffin tin or cupcake cups with ‘cupcake paper liners’. These liners can consist of numerous colors. They may also have seasonal designs.
Secondly, 2 / 3rd of the liners should be filled with batter, that is around ½ or 1/3 cup for regular-sized and two tablespoons for small cups. The addition of batter is directly proportional to size of the cupcake. There is a possibility of batter spreading over pan edges. To avoid this, it is recommended to grease the edges of the pan while preparing big cupcakes.
Thirdly, the baking temperature should be 350 degree Celsius, i.e. this should be the oven temperature. The time taken is around 21-26 minutes for cupcakes of the regular size and around 10 minutes for cupcakes of the smaller size. The instructions given in the recipe should be strictly followed as there may be variation in the density of batter.
Another way of baking cupcakes is the use of Ice cream cones. The ingredients include two-layer chocolate cake mix batter, either home-made or made as per the directions given on cake mix box, chocolate frosting (16 ounce), or homemade icing (2 cups), 24 flat bottomed ice cream cones, sprinkles, decors, and other desired decorations.
The procedure can be described as follows: Firstly, let the oven be preheated to around 350 degree Celsius. Secondly, let 1/3 rd of each ice cream cone be filled with cake batter. Thirdly, let these cones be placed on a cookie sheet (ungreased). Let the baking be carried on for 20-25 minutes. Let the wire rack be used for cooling cones. Let the top of each cupcake be spread with frosting. The decoration can be done as desired. One can also use flavored combinations.
It should be noted that cupcake decoration is equivalent to sugar cookies decoration. It completely depends on one’s imagination. They can be frosted, and sprinkles, piped-on decorations, or candies can be added later. In case of lunch box cupcakes, slicing should be done horizontally. It should be followed by inner frosting. It should then be wrapped in plastic to maintain freshness. Let the unfrosted cupcake be stored in freezer for around two months.
