Q&A: Does anyone know of a brand of stop watch with a large LED display?

Question by labamba32: Does anyone know of a brand of stop watch with a large LED display?
I umpire softball games and am tired of the players complaining that I have shorted them on their time for the game. So i’m looking for a stop watch (or a count down timer would be even better) that has a large LED display (something big enough that people could read it from about 20 feet away. It needs to be something that I could somehow attach some strings to so I can hook it to the backstop fence, and it needs to be battery operated. Any ideas?

ProCamera Pushes Out a Major Update, Introducing ?Steady Light? and ?Volume-Trigger?

Mannheim, Germany (PRWEB) November 08, 2011

Top rated and feature rich high-end iPhone camera app ProCamera just released a major update – version 3.3, with ?Steady Light?, and ?Volume-Trigger.?

As always, Apple approved the new update extremely quickly.

Volume Trigger allows users to snap photos simply by pressing the volume control button on the iPhone when using the ProCamera app. This makes the iPhone feel and function like most single purpose ?point and shoot? cameras. Volume Trigger also offers users the option of taking photos using the earbud (?headset?) volume controls. This is a particularly cool function as it allows iPhone users to take pictures ?at arms length? (length of your earbud cord) without touching the iPhone.

ProCamera?s creator, Jens Daemgen said: ?Apple has a simple API (“UIImagePickerController”) for very simple camera apps to support the volume trigger out of the box; but has not created an API for advanced camera apps to support the volume trigger. Advanced apps that use the complex API (?AVFoundation?) don’t get access to the hardware buttons the way they should. The component that most simple apps use just offers a ?take a photo? option, and it doesn?t come with any advanced features like separating focus and exposure, or white balance lock or whatever. (I suspect that Apple will provide a new API that solves this issue soon.)?

Jens then added, ?When using ProCamera the volume control buttons have two functions: the volume controls continue to work and the display shows the current volume level; and you can also take a photo.?

ProCamera offers the Volume Trigger, with all the advanced features.

This update also includes ?Steady Light?: Users can switch their flashlight to on/off/auto and additionally combine it with ?steady light? whenever they need it! Users can also choose the right flashlight intensity for every situation.

This feature allows users to shoot photos in dim light or even in complete darkness. With Steady Light users are able to literally brighten up the subject of the photo before using the digital flash. This solves the issue that the camera?s focus can not be accurate using only the flash light.

Users can also use Steady Light when they need a light in the dark to unlock the car, when they are looking for the house-keys, or when they find themselves on a dark path at night and need to know what?s ahead. Steady Light will be used for both practical tasks and creative iPhotography projects. We hope that this new user-friendly tool will become a favorite of ProCamera?s fans.

Achieve Peaceful Sleep Using A CPAP Mask

Numerous issues can cause fatigue throughout the day, but lacking quality sleep is often the most common problem. Many people are unable to rest even when they choose to go to sleep early, because of a problem known as sleep apnea. For the majority of individuals, sleep apnea can be difficult to recognize since it is hard to notice breathing problems at night without a partner’s vigilance. Some confusion may remain about how to treat sleep apnea even once it has been diagnosed, however. One of the most useful options lies in continuous positive airway pressure, or CPAP, masks.

CPAP masks may look intimidating at first. They feature a flow generator which creates a pressurized air flow, a hose which connects to the flow generator, and a nasal or full face mask which provide a connection to the user’s airway. Despite CPAP masks’ unusual appearance, when utilized properly with continual use, they are the best non-surgical tool for treating obstructive sleep apnea (the most common form). Another important fact to note about CPAP masks is that there are many different types and brands available. If one version seems too uncomfortable for use, then another mask sized in a different way, or with a different style, will most likely be more effective.

People may also have heard of problematic side effects that CPAP masks can cause, such as nasal congestion, eye irritation, sore throat, and general discomfort. Fortunately, CPAP users can forego all of these troubles so long as they select the right mask. CPAP masks should be chosen based on a person’s breathing preference, natural sleeping position, and any sizing factors they may need to consider. To help with this process, certain CPAP masks have even been developed that provide low air pressure when first worn, and then slowly raise the pressure as the user nears sleep, hence lessening discomfort.

Wearing a CPAP mask at night is, in truth, a small adjustment to make, especially when compared with the possible adverse effects of untreated sleep apnea. These include short term memory problems, impaired judgment and cognition, as well as moodiness. CPAP masks allow additional air to be pushed into a user’s airway so that respiratory muscles undergo less strain and keep regions of the lung from collapsing. This is good news for CPAP users’ partners as well, since the masks often end up eliminating bothersome snoring.

User convenience regarding CPAP masks has gone up over the years as they have become more portable, and remain one of the best options available for anyone living with sleep apnea. If users maintain regular care and maintenance for their mask, they should reap the utmost benefits of a more oxygenated and peaceful sleep. Searching for advice on what type of CPAP mask would best address an individual’s needs should be the first step before investing in any mask, so that once can achieve rest with little difficulty and stress.
